What an Isokern is
Earthcore Isokern fireboxes are cast from Icelandic pumice. They are masonry units, lighter than a traditional firebrick-and-block firebox, and they still take a firebrick liner, a damper, and a listed chimney.
Where it earns its place
On a framed floor, an addition, or a cottage where a full Rumford mass is more structure than the house has. The weight savings is a structural argument, not a slogan.
The face is still ours
Stone, brick, a mantel, and a hearth extension sized to the opening. Masonal or Cultured Stone on the surround when that is the finish. The fireplace division specs a zero-clearance unit when the job is an appliance, not a masonry firebox.
The kits
Isokern is the Earthcore masonry firebox. Standard in 36, 42, and 46. Magnum when the opening has to be larger. Maximus when the fire is a long linear gas burner. Wood, gas, or propane, indoor, and outdoor only when that kit is listed for it. Iso'ven is the Earthcore pizza oven. The chimney is masonry flue components or a listed metal chimney, matched to that kit. We do not invent a hybrid the listing does not allow.

Is an Isokern hotter than a Rumford?+–
No. A Rumford throws more radiant heat into the room. An Isokern is the masonry firebox you can carry when the structure, the schedule, or the floor says a full brick mass will not. Pick the one the house can hold and the room actually needs.
Do you sell the metal wood or gas unit here?+–
