Cultured Stone
Manufactured stone veneer, profile chosen, then mortared and flashed so a Northern wall does not spit it off.
Who it is for
Cottages, additions, wainscots, and fireplace surrounds that want the look of ledgestone where full-bed natural stone is the wrong weight or the wrong price.
What done looks like
The profile is selected, the scratch coat and lath are right, the stone is mortared, and every top edge is flashed. Corners are real corner pieces.
What to send
Elevations or photos, the height of the veneer, and whether it stops at a wainscot, a window, or the soffit.
On this line
Manufactured, installed like it will freeze
Cultured Stone is a manufactured veneer. It still fails if water sits on the top course or behind the lath. The install is the product.
Not a substitute for structure
Veneer is a finish. It does not hold up a house and it is not a chimney. Structural stone and stacks are the other lines.
Profiles
Ledgestone, Country Ledgestone, Pro-Fit ledgestone, drystack, fieldstone, and Cast-Fit ashlar. The fireplace line has already used Country Ledgestone on surrounds. The same yard sets it on a wall.
Interior and out
Feature walls inside, wainscots and gables outside. Outside gets the weather details. Inside gets a joint you can live next to.
Questions
Is Cultured Stone the same as Masonal?+–
No. Masonal, Aura, Banas, and Pangaea are quarried stone. Cultured Stone is manufactured veneer. We set all of them. They are not interchangeable on a structural wall.
Will it stay on through freeze-thaw?+–
It stays if the wall behind it is sound, the lath and scratch are right, and water cannot get in at the top, the windows, and the grade. That is the quote.
